Chapter 3 - The
Harbour
====================
Today, I wake up. My first thought, adventure.
I prepare my clothes, foods, gold coins. Supplies. Madam Noir notices.
"What are you doing with these, dear Xi?", she asks.
"I'm going for an adventure, madam Noir. Like I've said, life's not just under the roof.", I explain. She looks kind of shock.
"Where are you going to?", she asks.
"Somewhere far, madam Noir.", I reply.
"Let him go, Noir. He's not a small kid anymore. He can heave a burden himself.", uncle Zhor speaks. He gives me a smile.
"Then, I have no power to stop you.", madam Noir smiles at me.
At the lawn, we gather up. Madam Noir and uncle Zhor hug me before I left. Madam Noir says:
"XiStarry. This is a picture of your parents. Please take care of it. They didn't left anything else except this picture."
I take it. I see my mother. My father. Nostalgic
"Take care, Xi. You've grown up now. You've helped us a lot.", uncle Zhor says.
"Thank you, uncle Zhor, madam Noir. I'm so happy for all these years with you. I've nothing left I could give. I could only give you, my love and service only.", I reply. With tears. Running down my cheeks. I feel wet.
It is time.
Madam Noir cries while waving me with a handkerchief. Uncle Zhor waves at me.
I wave. Bow. Smile. Thank. Cry. Leave.
...soon
I make my steps, heading to the tavern. Strange. The old man isn't here. I am wondering thousand questions.
The tavern. I reach.
I enter as usual, finding my seat. My eyes didn't focus on any others. Except Grace. She's busy.
After I get my seat, Grace comes towards me. As she knows my presence and existence. I'm grateful.
"XiStarry, what can I do for you? You seem like venturing somewhere.", she says, looking at my backpacks.
"Well, do you mind packing me some bread? I shall take them for my journey.", I reply.
"If you wouldn't mind, may I know your journey heading?", she asks while sitting slowly by my side. I wish this could be forever.
"The journey may be dangerous. I expect for you not to know.", I answer while holding her small hand. I can see the difference between mine and hers. So soft, pale and smooth. She's a real beauty.
"I see. Well, I wish for your safety along your journey.", she says.
"One is grateful for your kindness.", I reply. "Thank you."
"It's fine. I'll get your order up.", she replies. Stands then heads to the kitchen.
She brings the breads. Packed. She passes them to me.
This shall be the last time I hold her smooth hand, I think.
The ache in my chest becomes harder.
Harder than ever.
I can't tell her that I love her.
I just can't.
So, I thank her. Bow. Smile. Kiss her soft hand. Leave. Cry.
...soon
I reach the harbour. People are looking busy with their works. Some of them are repairing the boats. Some of them are busy with their nets, fishing rods.
I walk to a jetty nearby. I step onto the plank, I see a familiar face in one of the boat.
THE SAME OLD MAN.
"There you are, child. I anticipated that you'd come", the old man says while getting off his boat. He then comes beside me and says ''I know just where do you want to venture to''
"You, sir? How did you..", I reply, but he interrupts.
"Don't worry child. I'll take you to your destination"
''Literally, you know where am I heading to?", I know he knows what is the answer.
And he does. I've expected much.
"Sherwood Forest."
